Tennison 1999 Christmas News - Page 3

Finally we decided to reevaluate our “trappings” and returned to our storage area to unload things that weren’t so necessary and get others that were.  Spent time visiting folks and square dancing then headed up to the Mendocino Coast and Giant Redwood country where we enjoyed some spectacular ocean walks.  Beautiful in the fall, not as crowded as summertime with all the tourists (guess that’s what we are, huh).

Returned to the Bay Area in time to celebrate Thanksgiving and will remain until mid January when we plan to head South for warmer climates.

Interlude to China

A trip to China had been planned back in 1998 before the great move was finalized, so in April we left our home in the care of painters and contractors and enjoyed a trip with fourteen friends that stretched from Shanghai to Beijing.  Fortunately, the trip occurred before the unfortunate incident with the bombing of the Chinese embassy, and the Chinese people were extremely gracious.  We had a great time, even if it did come during a very hectic time in our lives.

Other Family News and Events

During the course of all these life altering events, we celebrated birthdays and holidays as best we could.  Monica celebrated her 12th birthday in April and Selina her 2nd in May.  Our 41st Anniversary was a romantic dinner on San Francisco Bay.  Managed to be in town for Gail’s and Pam’s but others merely received a celebratory phone call, or not.  Next year will be better, I promise.

Lloyd continues his business in Walnut Creek. Mark works in sales at the Radisson in Los Angeles, continues to sky dive whenever possible.  He has been busy with his new condo also.

Pam has recently tried substitute teaching and is thinking of making a total career change.  Gail has just accepted a new position in pharmaceutical sales and is currently in Deerfield, Illinois for three weeks of training.

Bev job-shares a teaching position to spend as much time as possible with Selina, and Rick’s business is thriving.  He is currently looking at new office space outside the house.

Paul has moved from Dearborn, Michigan to Kansas City, Missouri.  His next stop is Germany in 2000.
Monica is a 7th grader who is grown-up enough to babysit for two year old Selina who keeps everyone busy.  See their photos on their web pages.
