Our Grandchildren

Monica

Monica is a busy sophomore and is again vice president of her class.  She attended a summer leadership camp at Stanford with students from all over California.  Monica worked full time throughout the summer as a camp counselor, so has already visited the world of taxation.  She took a trip to Disneyland, and enjoyed several limo trips into San Francisco when friends celebrated 16th birthdays.  She will be taking the test for her driver’s permit this week.  She is really a grown-up young lady and an honor student to boot!  We are very proud of her.

Selina

Selina posing in catalog with puppets - 2002
Selina started kindergarten in September and is growing so fast.  She is in Girl Scouts (Bluebirds) and takes an after school class in Spanish.  Her tumbling class had a great graduation ceremony that we attended with the whole family during our visit to California in June.  Swimming lessons and swimming often at the community pool were favorites of hers this summer.  New friends and keeping in touch with old playmates fill her days.  Selina saw her first ballet, the Nutcracker, with Grandma this Christmas.

Rico

Rico - December 2002
Rico is 22 months old and goes at 2200 miles an hour.  He is curious about everything, loves trucks and heavy equipment, and is a big fan of Bob the Builder.  While at a friend’s house a city truck pulled up and started trimming the trees in front complete with the basket for the man doing the trimming.  This was followed by the chipper to clean up the mess.  Rico was glued to the window watching the process and couldn’t be deterred by anyone or anything.
