Meanwhile, back at the Ranch
Home and Social activities

We kept busy on the home front at first this year by surviving El Nino here in California and by planning surprise parties.  Our monthly pinochle games are always entertaining, as is our Gourmet (Meet ‘n Eat) group.  This fall we formed a new couples bridge group and are playing monthly in this. Our annual tickets to the theater were supplemented by visits to San Francisco to see Dames at Sea which was a “hoot” and later saw Christopher Plummer in Barrymore in Los Angeles as an anniversary gift from some of the kids.  And let’s not forget our annual trip to the Rodeo at the end of October.

Square Dancing

Square Dance weekends kept us busy in King City in January, Monterey in February, Hollister and Bakersfield in March.  We were otherwise occupied for most of April and May, but in July we danced in Watsonville and San Francisco, the Gold Country over Labor Day, Napa in November and various other individual dances kept us on our toes.  We no longer dance on a regular basis with a club, but we enjoy dancing wherever we can.
