Joy and Ray's Travels
 In July we vacationed in Alaska . We flew to Juneau where we enjoyed five days of the capital city's sights and got a feel for Alaska and its perspective on "the lower 48." Then we flew to Anchorage, took a glacier cruise on Prince William Sound, and drove to Denali National Park where we tried in vain to see Mt. McKinley. We savored the gorgeous scenery this state had to offer, and those long days were quite an experience. I'm just glad we aren't there now when they have only a few hours of daylight!

A trip to Denver the first part of August for a Square Dance convention afforded an enjoyable, if short, getaway on our wedding anniversary weekend.

At the end of August we flew to Los Angeles for a relaxing weekend of theater and fine dining--a nice birthday present. We went to see the new musical "Ragtime," and thoroughly enjoyed it. After the whirl of Los Angeles, we drove to San Diego for a couple of days. We met friends from high school and college .
